After the Flood

On April 14. 2007 a spring nor'easter dropped nine inches of rain on Northern New Jersey flodding several area communities including the Lapoint's home on Walnut St. in Lincoln Park. The Lapoints had several feet of water inside their home, the damage was catostrophic. This is the story of their recovery from the devastatin flood.

Surrounded by ruined furniture and a soaked house Felicia Lapoint is comforted by her father, John, as the family begins the emotional job of rebuilding their home after four-feet of cold, muddy water infiltrated their home in the middle of the night after an April storm flooded Lincoln Park and several surrounding river-bound communities.

Robert and Felicia Lapoint cruise down Walnut St. in Lincoln Park on Robert's motorcycle-themed bike as their parents continue the job of removing flood-ruined wall board and furniture.

John Lapoint unloads a truck full of demolition debris in a makeshift dump that doubles as a town park.
